The LOC Method is used to moisturize natural hair. It stands for Liquid, Oil, Cream.

If you’re experiencing dry hair, the LOC method should be your go-to practice.

L is for Liquid

Liquid is the first step to moisturizing your natural tresses. The most commonly used liquid is of course water.

You can also use Aloe Vera juice.

Water is crucial in moisturizing your natural hair. Our hair needs water just like our body does.

O is for Oil

Oil is the second step in the moisturizing process. The oil seals in the liquid.

Which oil works best depends on your hair type. Try different oils and see what works best for you.

There are moisturizing oils and sealing oils. Oils can aid in both moisturizing and sealing in moisture.

The most popular oils used for the LOC method:

  • castor oil
  • alma oil
  • jojoba oil
  • olive oil
  • coconut oil

Use one or a combination of oils to moisturize your hair.

C is for Cream

Cream is the third and final step for ultimate moisture! Use cream to seal in the oils!

Use a curling cream or leave-in conditioner. Some ladies prefer to use shea butter.
